Survey Results for Elmhurst Park, organized by Paul Malkemes

We were able to collect 37 surveys in the last day from the Elmhurst Street residents. The tabulated results are below (in order of greatest to least of desired activities). 30 out of the 37 surveyed clearly expressed that
they would like to see a children's park in this area. Some surveys demonstrated a greater amount of thought about programming at the park. Some additional comments are at the end.

Additional Comments:
€ Ensure the park is handicap accessible - including tables
€ Maybe some sports leagues could gather here to play at other places. Maybe the Boy Scouts could meet here.
€ Many people expressed a desire to lock the park at a reasonable hour in the evening. (maybe a plus for a private owner)
€ Maybe a waterfall/fountain built into the rock sitting structure.
€ Many people expressed to make sure there are enough benches.
€ Make sure some benches are in the shade - especially for moms with babies.
€ The homeowner on the backside of the park asked for a high privacy fence between the park and her property (8 feet).
€ Develop educational programming around plants/shrubs/flowers.
€ A place for young & old to relax.
€ Should make sure there are counselors helping parents supervise children.
€ Include game activities to occupy children
€ Make sure there are no loose rocks for children to throw.
€ Build a clubhouse in a tree.
€ Include a place to clean up dog feces.
€ Need to do something about the speeding cars on the street.
