In Spring 2004 a crew from East
Side and Open Road
began to re-design the pond, field, and greenhouse in Open
Road Park.
Nearly every day this crew has been working together to remove
the reeds growing in the back of the pond, dig it out, and expose the liner.
They may deepen it or they may take it out completely. This crew has been re-wiring and
re-designing the large greenhouse in the field. This project combines our after
school Beacon teen programs, East Side science and ecology classes, and Living
Memorial program. Cornell University and Open Road Living Memorials teams have
been creating new designs for our ponds, trees, greenhouses, and fields.
